What must I do if I want to enroll in or apply for a
HGEA sponsored product?
First, you must make sure you meet all the eligibility
requirements for the plan you want to enroll in or apply for.
All plans require HGEA membership. If you are unsure about what
the eligibility for a plan is, call the Royal
State Insurance office on your island.
I am a state or county employee and have statutory
dues deducted. Am I not automatically a HGEA member?
HGEA membership is voluntary. In order to become a member, you
must fill out the necessary application form and submit it to
HGEA. You can call HGEA to verify or obtain membership: Oahu
536-2351; Hawaii 935-6841; Maui 244-5508; Kauai 245-6751.
How do I pay for my plans?
Most of our plans offer a convenient monthly payment plan.
State and county employees, and Retiree Unit members can have
their payments deducted from their payroll. Other members can
have their payments made through monthly deductions from their
bank account.
